NERC Compliance
All registered entities of the bulk power system must comply with reliability standards approved by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC). Several standards have been revised and entities must be compliant in many areas by the first quarter of 2017. Compliance with the NERC CIP standards is only half the battle. Once compliance programs are in place, it is necessary to collect documentation and evidence of that compliance, and prepare to provide such evidence to auditors. The purpose of this event is to ensure that personnel understand what is necessary to maintain compliance and successfully navigate the audit process from preparation to execution to post-audit negotiations.
This interactive session will comprise lecture, roundtable discussions and real-world examples aimed at understanding key strategies and identifying specific actions to effectively improve your organization’s culture of compliance and streamline your compliance activities. The program will also include detailed guidance on how to develop, implement and maintain strategies achieve and, more importantly, demonstrate compliance. Participants should come to the sessions with an open mind and be willing to discuss their compliance experiences in a confidential learning environment and be open to suggestions from the instructor regarding how to continuously improve your organization’s compliance.
